There isn't nice place to visit near Empress Hotel except maybe Putrajaya which is the new administrative centre of Malaysia. Since you have about 7 hours to spare, i would suggest you head to Kuala Lumpur ( one hour drive ) for some sightseeing. If this is the first time you are in Malaysia, then I suggest do not miss Kuala Lumpur.

First check into your hotel. Take a cab from the hotel to the Salak Tinggi ERL Train station ( about 5 minutes drive ). From there that the ERL train to Kuala Lumpur ( travelling time only 25 minutes ). You'll stop at the KL Sentral station. If you want to do shopping just walk to the Malaysia largest shopping mall ( Midvalley Megamall ) which is next to the station. However i suggest you take PutraLRT to the city centre. You may visit KLCC, KLTower ( though it may take some time as one need to queue to go up there ) or go shopping for Malayian handicraft at Central Market or street shopping at Petaling Street commonly known as Chinatown.

After your visiting just hop into PutraLRT to KLSentral station and take the ERL Train back to Salak Tinggi, Sepang before heading to your hotel. You need to leave Kuala Lumpur latest by 1700.

If you do no want to travel to Kuala Lumpur, then just take a cab to Putrajaya, which is about 25 minutes drive away. There isn't much at Putrajaya for tourists perhaps maybe some photo snappings ( big buildings , parks etc ). Shopping is very limited in Putrajaya. What are the tourist spots in Kualalampur ,Malaysia, situated near Hotel Empress Sepang?
with that time gap ,you should visit KL
1 Feb 2008 is a Federal Territories Holiday. This means Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya and Labuan city will be a holiday. Traffic in KL will not be that bad.

For attractions, you may want to go to KLCC, Twin Towers and KL Tower. These three places are located within the same area.

For shopping, head for Bukit Bintang area for more variety of goods.

Enjoy your visit to KL.
Frankly, after flying from LAX (voted the world's worst airport by me) to KLIA, I'd be looking to sleep before flying on to Bangalore!

You'll lose 3 hours of your stopover in airport formalities, which leaves you perhaps just over 6 hours, getting to/from the city will consume 2 of those remaining hours, leaving you 4 hours to take in the sights of KL. In fact that time may be further reduced due to the fact that your return time to the airport will be at the peak of the rush hour, and you could get stuck in the city centre jams.

There's nothing of major interest around the hotel, which (despite its website claims) is basically in the middle of nowhere.
this is your hotel - yeah very near the airport. your downtime is a little less than 10 hrs...that's plenty of time to visit kuala lumpur (only about 45 min. from your location)...ask your consigliere for best way to get there.
