Where is the nearest Hotel/Casino starting from Downtown LA?

I turned 21 a while back but STILL haven't gone to a casino ...

I'll go to Vegas soon but before I do I want to try it out.

My starting location (and where I live is) at Downtown LA. So where is the nearest DECENT AKA Clean and Good Looking Casino or Hotel/Casino.

I am willing to get on the Metro Rail Line(s) and go anywhere (no more than a couple of hours if absolutely necessary - closer is always perfered).

Point me to one please ...Where is the nearest Hotel/Casino starting from Downtown LA?

Pechanga is nice, but it's in Temecula, which is about 2 hrs away, and no public transportation going there ... the same with Morongo, which is near Palm Springs. You might as well drive to Las Vegas, if you're going to spend the time to go to the others! You can always stop at Stateline, which is about an hour closer to LA than Vegas is...and then continue on to Las Vegas.....
Go to Pechanga (it's a casino and a hotel). My husband and I went there once. i thought it was going to be lame, but we had so much fun! I think it's 1.5 to 2 hours from downtown LA. There's a closer casino in Commerce (off the 5), but it looks seriously shady.
I'd say there really aren't any in safe areas around L.A., but Hawaiian Gardens is probably the safest one. It's on Carson St., just east of the 605 fwy. (maybe it's Lincoln Ave. at that point). It's also close to the safe areas in Long Beach.
Local casinos are pretty depressing and are not in the best areas. Make a trip out to Pechanga or Morongo for a better time.
I would go to Casino Morongo out in the Palm Springs area. Its straight out the 10. Pretty nice!
