Things to do in Miami (near hotel)?

We have a day long layover in miami. We are staying at the Doubletree Grand Hotel Biscayne Bay. Can you suggest some restaurants/shopping/attractions that are within walking distance or a short taxi ride? We want to experience what we can of miami in that short time.

Bayside Market place has shops,resturants and live entertainment during the evening night hours and boat rides around the bay which will take you past Star Island where the celbs houses are. There are also party boats. The boat rides may run $20, maybe a little more its been awhile since I've been home and been to bayside.


Also you are near downtown Miami Macys is there as well as little shops.


Also you can check out Miami Seaquarium, Metro Zoo(but the zoo is 20 miles from the doubletree)


I figure you will be going to South Beach. Also go to Cocowalk in Coconut Grove. Taxi drivers knows the back way to get there. There is also things for you to do there as well.
